Prairie Heating Products’ plastic chair support brackets are an essential part of building each floor on a highrise that is using an in-slab duct. The plastic chair support bracket is a simple, yet necessary part that helps hold the in-slab duct in place on the form. The brackets are made from plastic and have pre-drilled holes for installation onto the slab duct.

Plastic chair support brackets have various sized levels on the chair that can help elevate by 2 ⅛”, 2 ¾”, and 3 ¼” levels. The height depends on the slab duct itself. 6 plastic chair support brackets are required per 10ft length of slab duct. When you consider how many ft of the in-slab duct is required for the multiple levels of a highrise building, many companies order over 10,000 of these units for the project.
A great update to these plastic chair support brackets is that we now offer them in grey options vs. just the white and older blue models. This is so that it blends better with the building. Installing the plastic support chairs comes easy with either screw into the duct, or with large zip-ties, all depending on the preference of the construction team. Due to the speed required to get a floor completed within a week on each highrise building, most of the chair brackets are pre-installed onto runs of slab duct that are hoisted to the proper level, and quickly assembled before the pouring of concrete. This setup is a very quick process, so a lot of planning is required before each floor requires the slab duct runs. In between processes, like waiting on electricians, plumbers, etc, is when the runs are typically built.
